David conceived and produced the Patterson Kia Coat "Drive" as a way to raise awareness about the dealership and to cement its ties to the local community. Through David's company, Ropewalkers, the dealership donated a minimum of $10,000 towards the purchase of new coats to be donated through the Arlington I.S.D. to students who did not have one to wear. JCPenny partnered on the project and sold the new coats at a discount. Teachers provided David with a child's name, coat size, and gender, and a coat was then selected specifically for that child.
In November and December, purchasers of new cars were given a coat ornament, with a child's first name on to hang on the dealership's tree to represent the coat that their purchase enabled to be donated. |
